High Mountain Concepts is a complete in-house operation — builders, carpenters, cabinet makers, and metalworkers who build custom homes across the Gunnison Valley. Design, construction, and specialty craftsmanship under one roof means no detail gets handed off and no standard gets compromised.
The company is led by John and Karen Stock. John, a Kansas City Art Institute graduate, brings an artist's eye shaped by apprenticeships with master carpenters and decades of leading custom home builds and multi-family construction in demanding cold-climate, high-altitude conditions.
Karen, trained at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, ensures every home reflects its owner's vision, lifestyle, and goals — with the organizational rigor to keep the process seamless and personal from concept to completion.
